Chances are, if you are familiar with hummus, you know this delicious Middle Eastern dip is traditionally made with chickpeas (garbanzo beans) as its base. As the delicious dip becomes increasingly popular for snacking, sharing and even as a spread on sandwiches, flavor variations are popping up in grocery stores and restaurant menus as well. For a change-up in taste, we present, drum roll please – pea hummus! As promised, this simple yet delicious hummus twist will be ready for devouring in less than five minutes. And, with very few ingredients! Don’t have fresh peas on hand? Not to worry! This recipe allows for frozen peas, too.

Instructions:

1) Add the peas, tahini, olive oil, salt and black pepper into a food processor or use a handheld blender to blend in short bursts of 10-15 seconds, until you have a smooth puree.

2) Serve the hummus with pita chips, vegetables or simply spread it on a slice of bread!
